Ooh, I woke up the next day after this post feeling that perhaps I gave the wrong impression – so this is the edit… The instructor below is very good and was acting according to her training, which is to talk too much for my liking. But I have synesthesia, where music affects me very strongly, and I would have had to leave the class if it was not for the tapping, which made the talk-over-great-music spoiling effect tolerable. And without further ado…
So here I was in the Spinning class minding my own business and the instructor, as nice and lovely as she is, yaks too much over the music. In order to put up with the incessant yak-yak-yak putting me off the cycling, I tapped my finger pints together discreetly. Instead of words, I kept thinking of the instructor bound and gagged like Cacofonix, the bard in Asterix the Gaul, and that kept me motivated.
Ahhh… peacefully quiet tied to a tree… peacefully gagged… lovely 🙂
When you have a chronic physical condition, anything that either emotionally or physically has a negative impact on you can make the condition worse.
