New Knee Injury Tapping With EFT

I got the chance to get a lovely cupboard and workspace for my clinic earlier this week and spent most of the day helping to assemble it. My right knee this time (my left knee is healed now) has been injured, and today was supposed to be the first day I could go running for the past week! And my right big toe joint is unhappy too.

I put Epsom salts on the affected areas to loosen up the tightness, and now I tap.

EFT for Work Stress

I love seeing clients. No matter how challenging the situation, I handle it with ease. But when it comes to learning new tasks on the computer, that is a whole new story. My business is going in a new direction, which means new things to learn, and I am really struggling with it all. It is a direction I am excited about; it´s just the learning period that is really getting me stressed.

On a scale from 0-10, it is definitely a 10. Tapping..

Down to a 4.5. And I am thinking more clearly now. For example, I had signed up to two webinars on the subject, and now I have decided not to attend them. I will learn more when I am ready. There is no need for over-doing it. I am a slow learner of practical computer tasks, and there is no point in forcing myself to do it any faster.

And I am not going to spend all night tapping either. I will tap some more tomorrow. Actually, it has now gone down to a 3, a kind of delayed reaction. Till tomorrow…

EFT To Stop Eating Peanuts

Wow I found out what people mean when they say they want to stop eating! I am running a Reiki workshop today and writing on a break. Earlier, I had put peanuts out for my attendees, after which they went out to lunch. I could not take my eyes or thoughts off the peanuts and kept eating them and topping them up. Every time I thought I could stop eating, I found myself reasoning “just one more bit”. So I started tapping: “Even though I have this peanut desire…” No change. I ate some more, and they still tasted delicious. I was not physically hungry, though, surely. So I tapped again: “Even though I need this protein…” No change. “Even though I want this salt…” No change. “Even though this reminds me of when my beloved bought me peanut butter…” The taste started to turn bitter in my mouth. After a few rounds, I did not want any more peanuts for now. Success.

Mucle-testing and EFT injury treatment

I am tapping, stretching, and doing remedial exercises for an injury I exacerbated when I ran my half-marathon. It consisted of my left knee and right hip. My left knee is almost back to normal function and no longer hurts. My right hip feels much better but still needs work. Three weeks ago, I was sitting in my Cape Town clinic in-between clients and decided to muscle-test for which muscles, bones, tendons, or ligaments were involved. I started with just around my right hip and from my left knee down. If you are new to muscle-testing, it is a technique from Kinesiology and involves using a muscle for bio-feedback of what is wrong. I used my anatomy and physiology book and a simple finger muscle to test. The following is a list of what came up, which I decided to tap on until all symptoms went, or until I felt like testing again to see what remains and what else needs healing.

Right hip:

  • Sacrum and coccyx
  • Gluteus maximus
  • Gluteus minimus
  • Obturator exrernus
  • Piriformis
  • Deep transverse perineus

From the left knee down:

  • Patella
  • Poplitial fossa
  • Popliteus
  • Tibialis posterior
  • Plantaris
  • Patellar ligament
  • Extensor hallucis longus
  • Extensor hallucis brevis
  • Extensor digitorium brevis
  • Metatarsals

I am tapping now on this list, one by one. Whenever I tapped on it before, I ended up falling asleep. This is what tapping on physical root causes does to me. It’s a good sign, as it only happens to me when there has been a shift. I am using this simple tapping procedure.

Two hours later, I am now finished! I had to take a break in the middle. My legs jumped about when I got to the toes and their muscles. And I can feel my backside relaxed on the right like it has not been for months. This is the first time that I have lasted the whole list. Interestingly, I can see from my anatomy and physiology book what improvements I have made that are related to this tapping over the last 3 weeks, and it is very encouraging.

Homeopathic-EFT Flu Protection for Winter in Cape Town

I choose not to have flu this year. Or if I really do catch it, I choose to have it mild. This is what I did:

  • Got a homeopathic preparation of the energy of the current flu strain from White´s the chemist on Parliament Street.
  • Got the same of other flus and cold over the past decade.
  • Held the homeopathic preparations in one hand and tapped with the other ¨I ask my body to fight this flu. I ask my body to be prepared to fight these viruses. My body calmly and efficiently makes antibodies to these viruses. I deeply love and accept myself. I accept myself and fight these viruses.¨
  • I also do this when I encounter a sick person on the bus. I say while I tap I choose to form antibodies to this virus. I accept myself and fight this virus¨.
  • I am taking herbal solutions to strengthen my immunity whenever needed.
  • I am taking a vitamin D supplement whenever I get little sunshine.
  • I am eating the best and most natural food for my body type that I can get.
  • I am keeping up my exercise at the gym to keep my lungs healthy.
  • I am using the Buteyko method to help me breathe better. So far, Buteyko breathing with EFT tapping were there for me on a couple of occasions recently when I went out without my inhaler and needed my left lung to open at the site of the obstruction.

So, with a mixture of EFT, homeopathy, herbs, and nutrition, I am so far free from cold and flu this year, despite several clients becoming ill with them and being exposed to lots of people sniffling and coughing. If I do get them, I will post about how I am fighting the virus.

(Edited 6 weeks later: I got the flu, but for one-and-a-half days only. I bounced straight back to health, with a minor chest infection afterwards that was remedied with some herbs, and I´m feeling great!)

Removing money blocks with EFT – Savings, piggy-bank, and the land

I started today with some household chores, enjoying my time off, watching the cat enjoy the balcony on a lazy Sunday. As I mopped the floor with our new lovely mop, I was thinking about money, and my main money block – savings. To put you in the picture, when I started EFT tapping in February 2004, the EFT helped me to stay alive from one day to the next, to survive with a roof over my head, and to patch up relations with my loved ones who had suffered greatly with me. Saving money was very low priority, as mere survival was taking up too much of my energy. Now, I am physically better, I am working on healing one thing that went very much wrong in my life after falling ill – money.

As I was mopping, I remembered a vague memory. As a young child, I was saving spare pocket money in my piggy bank. My uncle, who was in the position of a father to me since he died, asked me for that money. He was using all his powers of persuasion (almost begging me), and I remember that the rest of the family came along and persuaded me to hand it over. The final thing they said which persuaded me was that my uncle would give me, when I became 18, a family piece of land that I loved. I believed him. When I became 18, that land was never mine, and upon his death, it was never mine. Now as an adult, I realize that he must have had some huge bill to pay and been desperate for money. My uncle, a real simpleton when it came to handling money, and someone whose mistakes I vowed I would learn from, earned good money and yet never really had anything to show for it. I had vowed not to repeat that pattern in myself, despite illness, but illness takes all your money. however, I am no longer that very sick person, but I still have a problem with savings. As I think of the piggy-bank incident now (which, by the way, was a forgotten memory till recently), I get a 7 out of 10.

Now tapping as I imagine the alternative scenario of putting my money in corners or in the attic behind something no-one would see. I am back there as a child, in my mind, repairing this memory. In the new memory, I am not saving in vain. In the new memory, I never even get to know about this big bill or whatever my uncle desperately needed this money for. In the new memory, I am not promised this beautiful land, and I never aspire to live on it one day. I just save and save, so that I will have this money available when needed. I have a good habit that I protect from the weak uncle with false promises. I am strong.

Tapping:

¨I forgive him anyway. He showed me how not to be a fool. Although logically I learned it, I now energetically learn it too. I now want to be a regular saver.¨

The event is a zero. Not getting the land is a long story. I had thought that because I had broken off with family members when I thought they abandoned me as I became ill (long story), that my name was removed from any will to do with it. Now, I realize that my uncle regularly lied, exaggerated, and promised to people that he tried to make deals with, because he did not know how to negotiate. He just did the same with me, not realizing that I would grow up every day looking forward to being given that land, that in my mind I would every day dream of the house that I would build there, how I was going to take my child to school driving up the steep hill that led to it, how I would set up my work there, how I would grow my family there. I even dreamed to setting up an eco-community on the site. I had great plans, and of course my uncle did not imagine I would even remember his promise. The loss of that land, which my uncle never really meant to give me, still hurts. It´s something like a 3 out of 10, as I had tapped on other aspects before.

I thought the event was zero. Then I closed my eyes and in my mind heard the beautiful howls of the wolves at the bottom of the valley, and fresh tears are coming to my eyes.

Now I smell the pine trees and cry…

¨Even though I´ll never enjoy those pine trees there, I don´t mind, I can have pine trees in my new home that I am planning for – at least as a bonsai if planning permission is not granted.¨

It feels almost a zero now.  I am tired tapping – been tapping for an hour or so. I feel very peaceful.

Darling Half-Marathon EFT Tapping For Performance Success

Oh my God, I´m gonna die, I deeply love and accept myself (at the beginning, whilst maintaining 7.2 km/hr for the first hour)

¨New Balance, to the side. No, New Balance, to the back¨ – this was a nasty jibe given by a group of runners who passed me and not exactly said in a nice tone of voice. After this jibe, I fell back and my speed dropped. It took me about 15 minutes to tap the jibe out of my system, and then I worked on recovering my speed again. I also tapped on forgiving them, because they are just a***holes, doing what a***holes do (taken from an original EFT DVD and very apt for the occasion)

Thank you knee, thank you hips (healing statements for my less-than-optimal zones)

This hip pain, I deeply love and accept myself (using Collarbone and 9-Gamut, towards the end, when my hip started to hurt. As a result of the tapping, I changed my running style and also walked a little more, in order to help my body, until the hip joint felt very fluid again)

18 [km] by the 15 [minutes past 11 am] (I said this all the way from the 15 km mark whilst finger-rubbing. I also planned in my head to catch up with the lady whom I thought was the last person to overtake me and offer her some sweets, as she was struggling. I found out afterwards that there had been at least three other people behind me anyway, but it was a good goal, which I achieved. She made it to the finish about 5 minutes after me. Then came the other 3)

Finish by the 50 [minutes past 11] (whilst going up the very steep hill towards the finish and then running-walking-hobbling towards that finishing line – I made it at 11:44:47)

Tapping music used:

This time, I did not bring my iPod, although next time I plan to. However, I played the theme from Superman in my head anytime I needed it, especially towards the end. I also imagined crowds cheering, and played in my head the sounds of cheering crowds. Throughout the sounds in my head, I rubbed or tapped my finger points.

Other techniques used:

The Buteyko breathing method – I kept my mouth closed (except to speak when necessary) throughout the race, monitored my CP before the race, and did my Buteyko exercises at the warm-up and warming up to almost every single training session in the last 8 months.

Cold Humid Weather Asthma Management With EFT

It is autumn in Cape Town. I live by the sea, where the fresh sea air is lovely. However, right now, the cold makes the fresh sea air like ice in my lungs, especially my left lung, which has the breathing challenge. So, I had to go downstairs to put the clothes out on the line. I was actually trying to avoid that, but our neighbour who smokes (who is a lovely person otherwise, I must add) was in, and I didn´t want to put my wet gym kit on the balcony only to find it reeking of smoke in the morning. Mind you, it is unlikely that this would have happened, as it is rather chilly for going out to smoke in this weather. But I wasn´t taking any chances. So downstairs I went…

And then the cold humid air hit my lungs. So I tapped, my favorite tapping, rubbing the finger points together, as I said:

¨Cold humid air, I deeply love and accept myself¨.

I did this throughout the time I was downstairs and as a result, did not need my inhaler. I even went back up via the stairs rather than the lift. It was easy!

Knee Injury

I got a knee injury. So I set forth tapping for the pain, doing stretches, strengthening exercises, low-impact training, compression, etc, and it was gradually getting better.

Then today, as I was at the gym doing yet another low-impact cardio workout and tapping, it just popped into my head why I got the injury. OK, so this was my weak knee, and OK, it was prone to trouble, but I got this latest injury on the day of the Two Oceans Half-Marathon that I was supposed to be initially running. If you have been following my progress, you will probably remember that this is the race I had decided I was not quite ready for, and that I had chosen the Darling Half-Marathon instead, a less formal race a month later. Well, on the day of the Two Oceans half, I was out training, and some youths made fun of me, making remarks about Two Oceans and that I had wandered off the track. I did not realise at the time just how deeply hurt I was. As soon as I realised it today, my knee suddenly stopped hurting, and I wanted to run again. I kept tapping on the incident until zero. And then I closed my eyes and vividly imagined it to test if it was really gone. I then heard one of those teens in my mind saying “Two Oceans” sarcastically, in that teenage-boy voice. It was a 3 out of 10. So I kept tapping as I remembered the voice. Then I closed my eyes and tried to vividly imagine it again, and all I saw was fluffy balls of white cotton wool instead! It was gone. I went to the treadmill and ran 2.23 km.

I will increase gradually and carry on with the knee care. Apart from a tiny bit of soreness in some positions, the pain has gone. Like magic!

By the way, my breathing is doing wonderfully with all this training. Roll on the 21st May, the day of my first half-marathon.

Finally – I Overtook Someone Running!

I am a relatively novice runner training for my first half-marathon. And I had to tap as I ran yesterday, as usual, on the shame of being overtaken by another runner. Then I carried on as normal, this time tapping to the theme from Superman playing in my head, with me as the superhero. I was also chanting cheers in my head like “Yes, I CAN”. When I was nearly back home again, the same man stopped me to say that he was impressed with how I overtook him and had so much stamina! I was astounded, and said that I was surprised, because he had overtaken me!

It turned out that his sprint was faster than mine, but he struggled to recover from each one, and his stamina suffered. I actually had overtaken him and run overall faster and further. Wow! And, he was a seasoned half-marathon runner. He said that I was ready to run a marathon and kept marvelling at my stamina.

When he explained how he found it hard to recover from his sprints, he breathed heavily in and out through his mouth. So I gave him a tip for stamina; keep your mouth closed and try to just breathe in and out through your nose, and you will go further. It is just a simple Buteyko thing that I have learned. I chose not to tell him about the tapping, as I felt it would have been too far out there for him to swallow, all in one conversation. Maybe next time, if we meet again.

I use a combination of simple Buteyko breathing techniques and EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) tapping to help me run. The fact that I am training for my first half-marathon is nothing short of a miracle to me, as I had been seriously ill with smokers lung for many years. The combination of these two methods works on all my physical and emotional blocks and enables me to run at my optimal best. I am truly blessed to have these skills.

When you have a chronic physical condition, anything that either emotionally or physically has a negative impact on you can make the condition worse. EFT is one way of throwing away the emotional rubbish collecting in your system. In the same way that we dispose of our household rubbish regularly for home cleanliness and hygiene, I use EFT to dispose of negative emotions for my optimal physical health.
