Christmas Disappointment

Like many people, Xmas can bring joy, or it can bring great sadness and discord. I forgot this morning to lie, lie and lie and pretend, pretend, and pretend some more, so I said a truth. Not a nice one, but one that I felt protective enough about the person involved, so I spoke up.

What followed was the usual barrage of accusations and anger. I should have known better. Tapping…

Setup:
“I want to know better next time and simply lie. Telling the truth did not change the situation at all for the person suffering, so a diplomatic lie would have achieved more in the long term. I ask that I learn to lie next time.”
Reminder:
“Better to lie.”

After a few rounds, I feel empowered. Unfortunately, telling some of the truth was so damaging to the possibility of helping the person that needed help. It will take years to undo. In the meantime, I should give up on trying. It is hard not to care about a vulnerable person that you very much care about. But caring will get that person nowhere. It is best to distance myself, for my own well-being.

I feel at peace. It will take a while to get real peace, if ever, but at least I have peace with a solution that can work. just avoid, and whenever that is not possible, lie. Peace. Caring too much was very destructive to my health. I have been coughing like crazy. Peace is calming to my body. I need to look after myself first. And if I cannot change a bad situation, I can learn to let it go and stop caring.

On the Sue Scale (you can download it from my new EFT How To For You), I am a 0. So I tap:

“I choose to lie, ignore, and trust that I am not God. I cannot solve this problem. I choose to lie and avoid,. I cannot make this person happy. But I can choose to be happy myself.”

I followed it by tapping “Happiness”.

Got to a plus 6. That is good enough for now. I want to be as peaceful as this man here, unshaken, unstirred, strong.

As usual, my style is not polished but raw and real. This was the 5th take after realising my microphone earplug thing had just died, so I even forgot to show you the exercise I was doing. Suffice to say, it was very hard for me and no way could I have done it with EFT and Tapping.

EFT helps me – will it help you?

My health is great now, and I am preparing for my second half marathion, after a knee injury, hence the necessary physiotherapy exercises. I have found that EFT releases energy blocks that can make me ill. I truly believe this, having experienced the effects of untapped stress on my body, even if it just leads to a cold. Because with COPD, a cold can be a pretty big deal. So I tap away any unwanted feelings as soon as I can, to remain healthy and happy.

Tapping in the sun with a little help from a Labrador

This morning, I received an email which felt very uncomfortable. I was deciding whether to say anything or whether it was wise to say nothing. I was also very upset by what I felt was a wrong-doing in the email; not to me but to EFT in general. So I sat in in the sun on the grass behind the gym, rubbing my finger points as I mentally processed the issue. Basically, I just rubbed my finger points, as it was a public space, and thought about the issue and what I can say, whether it would be wise to speak up, what consequences there may be, the consequences of remaining quiet, and my upset about what I perceive as a wrong-doing. I was starting to feel a bit better, and then all of a sudden, I was descended upon by a friendly Labrador mix adorable dog, trying to lick me, all excited, trying to be all over me! Wow! At that moment, I felt instant relief. Then the dog came back and did it again, and I knew what action I had to take: say nothing. And it felt OK! The dog started to come to me another time, but I said thanks but you have to go to your owner now. So it did.

When you have a chronic physical condition, anything that either emotionally or physically has a negative impact on you can make the condition worse. EFT is one way of throwing away the emotional rubbish collecting in your system. In the same way that we dispose of our household rubbish regularly for home cleanliness and hygiene, I use EFT to dispose of negative emotions for my optimal physical health.
