The Power of Love Frankie Goes to Hollywood Tapping
I opened an email from a lovely client. This is someone who is very neurodiverse and too trusting. Luckily, it was me they were putting their trust in, and as I read the email, these words from Frankiw Goes to Hollywood’s Power of Love came to me:
“I’ll protect you from the hooded claw
“Keep the vampires from your door”
And suddenly, I started crying. At my worst point in my health, I was with a man who I was only with in order not to have my children put into care when I died, since I was so ill, I did not expect to live much longer. He sang it to me one day as the record was playing (yes, that long ago). And I wanted so much to believe that someone will take care of me, that I melted in his arms. But he was not a good man.
Now it’s a 3 or 2 instead of a 10+ out of 10. I’m reading all the lyrics now as I tap continuously. He’s fading from the picture of me in his arms. Continuing tapping…I am standing up now, no longer in his arms…He’s fading even more….He’s gone from the picture… I am standing there dazed, wondering what happened, like I have just woken up…Now I am going to the library (pre-internet days) to look up alternative health information, and going to the church to find strength and solace. The me in there is now strong of spirit, no longer gullible due to desperation. She has options and is using them.
Wow…
When you have a chronic physical condition, anything that either emotionally or physically has a negative impact on you can make the condition worse.
