Theft Trauma Tapped Away With EFT

A potential client has just left, stealing two of my office keys, because I declined giving him a massage without payment. He was rude and obnoxious from the start. This to be honest, is not entirely his doing, as he was sold a voucher which was not given to him, and he thought that I could somehow claim it. I explained to him that the last time I gave a massage in good faith, I was resentful and wary for two weeks, and after much chasing of the client, by which time I had spent all what I was due in phone calls and such, I finally got paid and decided not to do that again. The client got, perhaps understandably furious. He was much stronger than me, so my instinct kicked in. I fled the office and said at the door that I was going to call Security to call the Police if he did not leave. I went to call Security, the lift had a slight malfunction, and I ended up back on my floor, only to see him jeer at me as he went in the lift I had just vacated. On entering the office, I found he had stolen the keys.

OK – now I have news that I have just received! The building supervisor has just been and to be honest, these are the figures. I had been meaning to get a spare set cut. The cost of me getting them cut was R35 each, totaling R70. This emergency meant that I had to ask the building supervisor for two sets instead, but because the building owner had a deal with the key shop, it ended up costing me R10 a key, a total of R40, and they also added two key fobs totally free of charge! So I saved R30 by this silly theft.

However, although the savings and the convenience of having a shiny new set of spare keys has really cheered me up, on a scale of 10-0, I am still a 4 in feeling shaken. So I tap…

I then tapped as I thought of other courses of action that could have calmed the situation. I tapped for doing my best under the circumstances, how I was warned that this will happen, by others who had it done to them, and that I took a stand on being paid because I have to keep my business going, and how much I loved my business and was not going to see it fail due to giving too much, then I forgave myself for taking a hard stance. I do not know how I will react next time somebody does this, but I want to make sure that I grow my business enough never to have to be in this situation again. I forgave myself again, I forgave the potential client, and I feel at a zero with regards to this incident now. I am still mulling over how I can best handle this situation when it occurs again in the future. It is hard in Cape Town, where people are not given respect for who they are or the work they do but by the material goods they possess. I am sure I will not always get it right, and one day, I will have to actually go as far as calling the police, and I am making peace with that.

New Knee Injury Tapping With EFT

I got the chance to get a lovely cupboard and workspace for my clinic earlier this week and spent most of the day helping to assemble it. My right knee this time (my left knee is healed now) has been injured, and today was supposed to be the first day I could go running for the past week! And my right big toe joint is unhappy too.

I put Epsom salts on the affected areas to loosen up the tightness, and now I tap.

EFT Personal Peace Procedure And Mugs

When I started this blog way back in 2004 (first postings have unfortunately been lost, but you can go back to 2005), I thought I had done all my EFT past self-tapping. This is part of your Personal Peace Procedure. The next part is to tap on anything that comes up on a day-to-day basis. However, as you can see if you go back to 2005, I had plenty in my past to still tap on. Also, every now and then, something long-forgotten surfaces for healing. These are now small events, not like the big events at the beginning of this blog.

To illustrate, let me tell you about a tapping I did in the last two weeks. My spouse brought old drinking mugs into our household. Two were remnants of the 1980s, those clear mugs that are either totally clear glass or a transparent brown glass. And for some reason, I always hated them. I found it hard to make someone a cup of coffee in them, but my spouse loved those mugs, and so I used them begrudgingly. I noticed a couple of weeks ago that I did not even like washing them or even touching them whilst putting them back into the cupboard. Then finally, I remembered! I had a terrible time in my first marriage in the early 80s, when I had mugs just like those. Many arguments happened whilst I was drinking tea from those mugs. After the divorce, I went through a period of poverty for several months whilst having cups of tea in those mugs. No wonder I didn´t like them. So I tapped something like:

I have just tapped it again, using the 9-Gamut this time too, and released the last of it. Wow, I am smiling as I tap.  A memory of a fight has just melted, and in its place was Duran Duran and Culture Club playing on TV whilst I enjoyed a cup of tea in those nice mugs!

Stretch-and-tap – surprising EFT hip pain statement

At the gym a couple of days ago, I was stretching-and-tapping as usual after my workout. My hips have been tight lately. I started tapping on the tightness on the right side of my bottom, saying “Even though I have this pain in the ass,…” and thinking of incidents, situations, and people that could be a pain in the backside for me. Suddenly, I got the feeling that I should be tapping on something else. My groin was tight, and (sorry if this offends) I just got the feeling I must say “Even though I’ve been shafted,…” – Wow! Immediately 2 people who had taken advantage of me (pre-EFT days) came to mind. I kept tapping on this strange new statement, and my groin relaxed much further. Amazing.

My hip has been a challenge lately. A visit to the chiropractor helped slightly, but in Cape Town, all chiropractors I have experienced, however well-recommended, give a very poor service. After tapping on that for two days, I decided on attending every stretch, Yoga, and Pilates class I can, and to get regular massages. I am also using Epsom salts and progesterone cream, the combination of which is great. Every day, my hip is improving. This helps me to run, which helps my lung. I will be getting my SI joint properly sorted when I am in the UK in April, if there is any problem remaining, that is. I think it is unlikely, as today, my hip feels amazing. EFT For Money Issues

All of today, I have been wanting to spend what I do not have to spend. I wanted:

  • An ice-cream when I was not in the least hungry.
  • A magazine when I knew there was no way I could find the time to read it.
  • Clothes that I simply did not have space for due to moving house and packing.

I was also considering not to place advertising scheduled for tomorrow, which would almost certainly lose me money.

The list goes on, but you get the picture. I wanted to spend, spend, spend and was reticent to make money, for no obvious reason. And then it dawned on me. I am at the start of a new phase in my business well-being. This is where I finally go one step further in moving financially forward since getting smokers lung about 25 years ago. I feel scared. All my muscles are tense. Part of the fear is in case yet again this time, I don’t make it. But that is absurd, because if I spend wisely, I will make it. And even though half my business or more is by referral, I still need to advertise. Of course, it may be that this month’s scheduled advertisement brings me nothing, but that is a risk that needs to be taken. And if I don’t take that risk, then I have to rely almost purely on referrals. I think I am so scared I will fail that I was trying to make myself fail to prevent raising my hopes up, only to be disappointed again. On a scale from 10 to zero, the feeling that I will be disappointed again is a 9. So I am tapping…

EFT for taking too much inhaler

I was struck by how much inhaler I was taking. Two weeks ago, I suddenly ran out and had to ask my spouse to go at the last-minute to buy me more. I realized that I was taking one inhaler a week. Now, for me, anything that helps me survive and heal is good, and this is way under the amount of prescription and OTC medication that I used to take in my worst days, years ago. But it is still too high.

One of the reasons for taking too much inhaler was the way inhalers have changed. The non-CFC kind does not quite reach that part of my left lung which tends to get blocked. And so I was driving it in by 3 consecutive sprays, which I knew were too much. I know that if I use the reliever inhaler too much, it will make my breathing worse. So I tapped;
“Even though I tend to take too much inhaler, I choose to take one spray only, I deeply love and accept myself”.

I could visualize myself taking just one puff at a time. But then, I got a feeling of breathlessness and panic. So I tapped, making sure to also tap with my whole hand down my ribs in a straight line from my UnderArm point, to help my lungs and spleen:
“Even though the thought of just one puff makes me panic, I deeply love and accept myself”.
The panic started to dissipate, but there is one worry on my mind that remains. I do hypnosis, as it is very popular here in Cape Town with people that either do not know EFT or are too traumatized to consider it as yet. And when I give hypnosis, I need my breathing to be as near perfect as possible. I usually would have taken 3 puffs before each hypnosis session, so that I would not cough in the session or run out of breath for clear speech. And I remember a time when I did not do that. Then, all of a sudden, I got a coughing fit in the middle of a client’s hypnotherapy session. As I think about that session, I get a 3 out of 10 in intensity, fear, and panic that I might do it again. So I am tapping:
“Even though I had a coughing fit…”
I feel more relaxed. The intensity of feeling is a 2 out of 10. So I tap:
“Even though it can be disruptive to a client session, the one and only time it happened was over 7 years ago. Once in the 9 years I have been giving hypnosis does not mean I have to fear it recurring. I deeply love, accept, and forgive myself.”
Now, the fear that it will happen again is down to a zero,and my breathing is easier still. What remains is a 1 out of 10 of guilt for that client session 7 years ago. So I am tapping…

“This guilt.”
I tapped on many other issues as they came up. And now, it is all a zero. I feel absolutely totally relaxed and wonderful. I am aware that my left lung could be more expanded, but I am not panicking about it. I know that I have to wean myself off taking excess amounts of inhaler, and that it’s a process. I feel remarkably calm.

Gym Motivation And Couples Argument Release, All With EFT

My spouse and I, like any other couple, started to argue earlier today. And specifically just before going to the gym. And I was panicking in fear of missing my precious Sunday Yoga class, so I was responding in a way that was escalating the argument. But somehow, I managed to quickly tap as I continued arguing, tapping on my CollarBone as fast as I could. Well, in about a minute, I went totally quiet, and the argument soon petered off. I finished my self-healing with a quick blast of Reiki and baby-blue healing for my throat chakra.

Next came the Yoga class. As usual, I tapped through some of the poses, in order to allow myself to stay in the pose and relax further. I had developed a problem with my right gluteus muscles, hip flexors, and others (I muscle-tested for them two weeks ago and will publish my self-tapping on these when I finish). And so the associated Yoga poses were painful. My right hip again was a problem. Again, as in a previous posting, I feel it is the provider in me. The right side of us energetically has to do with a male in our lives or the male side of us. I still am earning too much less than my spouse, and I was worried about it. Of course, I know the situation will get better next month, but that is logic. We are talking about emotions here, which are not necessarily logical. So I tapped whilst in the pose. I tapped mainly on the Top of Head point and said in my mind things like ¨Even though I have this lack of money in those muscles, I deeply love and accept myself¨ and ¨It hurts, ow, I accept myself¨. The whole area around my hips eased, not just the part being stretched.

I left the Yoga class to join the spinning class. I was a bit tired, but this was one of my favorite instructors, and I didn´t want to miss the opportunity to enjoy a spinning class. I think it takes a certain talent to do a spinning class, and most of the instructors, although excellent in other classes, simply just cannot quite get this one right. And so I did the class although a bit tired. The challenging parts were when we had to do a breakaway (going really fast). I managed them by tapping whilst counting the seconds till the end of the breakaway. I actually rubbed, rather than tapped, with my Thumbs and Index Finger against my gym towel, which was on the handlebars. And so I did the class and enjoyed it. Next came my run. I was due to do a 13-minute interval run today, which I did with ease. Well, the first part of it is what usually gets me – the warm-up. This is when I usually tap something like ¨Oh my God, I´m gonna die¨ as I run. This keeps me running despite the challenge to my left lung, and it soon manages, and I am then breathing fine. I actually rubbed here rather than tap. I rubbed the Thumb and Index Finger and the Thumb and Middle Finger of both hands together as I did it. I also tapped as I was coming up to a sprint, to stop myself from doing it too soon, which would have meant that I would have struggled to recover afterwards. I left the gym feeling amazing. My only regret is that there was no time to go into the sauna afterwards.

Cold Humid Weather Asthma Management With EFT

It is autumn in Cape Town. I live by the sea, where the fresh sea air is lovely. However, right now, the cold makes the fresh sea air like ice in my lungs, especially my left lung, which has the breathing challenge. So, I had to go downstairs to put the clothes out on the line. I was actually trying to avoid that, but our neighbour who smokes (who is a lovely person otherwise, I must add) was in, and I didn´t want to put my wet gym kit on the balcony only to find it reeking of smoke in the morning. Mind you, it is unlikely that this would have happened, as it is rather chilly for going out to smoke in this weather. But I wasn´t taking any chances. So downstairs I went…

And then the cold humid air hit my lungs. So I tapped, my favorite tapping, rubbing the finger points together, as I said:

¨Cold humid air, I deeply love and accept myself¨.

I did this throughout the time I was downstairs and as a result, did not need my inhaler. I even went back up via the stairs rather than the lift. It was easy!

Week 7 of Runners World Training and Successful Gym Tapping

I am in Week 7 of Runners World beginners training, and I am on track! A couple of days ago, I ran-jogged-ran-jogged along the beach for 30 minutes flat out and was really pleased with myself. If you´re interested, see my account of how I did it here.

Today was the second day of Week 7. I have been avoiding the gym because it was being painted, with some noxious paint fumes all around. But the painting is now over, and I was back. It feels really weird running indoors now. However, I find it useful, because the machine measures my speed, inclination, etc, and has a great timer. Plus, I can use my iPod and the nice expensive headset, which I would not feel comfortable going out with on the road. So anyway, I started on the elliptical trainer and did Buteyko exercises with EFT, then broke into a very fast walk for the last 7 minutes (you get 20 minutes maximum, unless you cheat). I tapped mainly by rubbing the Thumb and Index Finger points together. Then I went to do stretches with my spouse. With each stretch, I would ask myself what emotion is stuck in the tight muscles, and tap-rub for that. It is wonderfully releasing and you get a mind-and-body gentle workout all at the same time. This was followed by the first set of running. I had to run for 15 minutes, walk for 1, then run for 15. I struggled with the first few minutes and just wanted to give up. So I tapped:

¨Even though I can´t do this….¨

¨Even though I´m going to fail…¨

¨Even though I just cannot breathe for this…¨

¨Even though it´s scary doing 15 minutes…¨

¨Even though I can still smell some paint and I´m scared…¨

¨Just a few minutes more, and I´m there¨

Before I knew it, I had done 15 minutes. I wanted to carry on and cheat and do 30, but I decided to claim my Week 7 allowance of a minute´s walk. Very few people were using the treadmills, so I started the machine up again (a kind of cheat) and ran another 15 minutes. With the tapping, I was able to pay attention to my running style and be careful to run slowly rather than jog. I had a sprint at the end, but since my Buteyko Control Pause is down due to a slight infection, I only did about 8.5 km/hr tops. I am concentrating on building my stamina, and I know the speed will come as I get stronger. But I completed my program!

COPD:  0 – a big fat zero!

Then, I went on the weights. I am building up my shoulder strength with the aim of lifting 20 kg. I started with a set of 15 kg. I was terrified of not making it. And I thought I had seen an *****ole who is really a horrible person, so I started tapping for having to literally face him in order to use the shoulder machine, so I tapped on it, as the thought of a bad person usually weakens your muscles. I simply rubbed my Under Nipple points as I thought of what I´d really like to say to him, and then as I thought of the fear of lifting 15 kg and failing. As it happened, he wasn´t even there but someone who looked like him. But the tapping sure helped the weight lifting. I went round all the machines, challenging myself with more, and ended with another lovely stretch.

I cannot tell you just how wonderful it feels after not only exercising but also tapping for the two hours that I was there. I left on a cloud!

When you have a chronic physical condition, anything that either emotionally or physically has a negative impact on you can make the condition worse. EFT is one way of throwing away the emotional rubbish collecting in your system. In the same way that we dispose of our household rubbish regularly for home cleanliness and hygiene, I use EFT to dispose of negative emotions for my optimal physical health. I Did It! I Ran for 15 Minutes Straight by the Beach!

I said in my previous posting that I will report back – well, I excelled my expectations!

I think I did it because:

  • I wrote out the Runners World beginners running program on one sheet of A4 that I put in front of me on the wall next to my computer. So I always see it when working on the computer.
  • I worked out the distances involved and wrote them down. This got me more involved in thinking the task, imagining I am there and what that would involve.
  • I took a comforting item with me (my mobile phone as my stop-watch) and wore clothes I feel comfortable in.
  • I used the Buteyko breathing method to help me build my breathing stamina.
  • I worked my legs in the gym using weights, and also attended classes, to strengthen the muscles.
  • I used EFT for any block in my path.

I hope this helps motivate you or yours for achieving any sports goal you want. I´ll keep you posted on my progress.
