I am tapping, stretching, and doing remedial exercises for an injury I exacerbated when I ran my half-marathon. It consisted of my left knee and right hip. My left knee is almost back to normal function and no longer hurts. My right hip feels much better but still needs work. Three weeks ago, I was sitting in my Cape Town clinic in-between clients and decided to muscle-test for which muscles, bones, tendons, or ligaments were involved. I started with just around my right hip and from my left knee down. If you are new to muscle-testing, it is a technique from Kinesiology and involves using a muscle for bio-feedback of what is wrong. I used my anatomy and physiology book and a simple finger muscle to test. The following is a list of what came up, which I decided to tap on until all symptoms went, or until I felt like testing again to see what remains and what else needs healing.

I am tapping now on this list, one by one. Whenever I tapped on it before, I ended up falling asleep. This is what tapping on physical root causes does to me. It’s a good sign, as it only happens to me when there has been a shift. I am using this simple tapping procedure. Setup

Two hours later, I am now finished! I had to take a break in the middle. My legs jumped about when I got to the toes and their muscles. And I can feel my backside relaxed on the right like it has not been for months. This is the first time that I have lasted the whole list. Interestingly, I can see from my anatomy and physiology book what improvements I have made that are related to this tapping over the last 3 weeks, and it is very encouraging.

I choose not to have flu this year. Or if I really do catch it, I choose to have it mild. This is what I did:
Got a homeopathic preparation of the energy of the current flu strain from White´s the chemist on Parliament Street.
Got the same of other flus and cold over the past decade.
Held the homeopathic preparations in one hand and tapped with the other ¨I ask my body to fight this flu. I ask my body to be prepared to fight these viruses. My body calmly and efficiently makes antibodies to these viruses. I deeply love and accept myself. I accept myself and fight these viruses.¨
I also do this when I encounter a sick person on the bus. I say while I tap I choose to form antibodies to this virus. I accept myself and fight this virus¨.
I am taking herbal solutions to strengthen my immunity whenever needed.
I am taking a vitamin D supplement whenever I get little sunshine.
I am eating the best and most natural food for my body type that I can get.
I am keeping up my exercise at the gym to keep my lungs healthy.
I am using the Buteyko method to help me breathe better. So far, Buteyko breathing with EFT tapping were there for me on a couple of occasions recently when I went out without my inhaler and needed my left lung to open at the site of the obstruction.
So, with a mixture of EFT, homeopathy, herbs, and nutrition, I am so far free from cold and flu this year, despite several clients becoming ill with them and being exposed to lots of people sniffling and coughing. If I do get them, I will post about how I am fighting the virus.
(Edited 6 weeks later: I got the flu, but for one-and-a-half days only. I bounced straight back to health, with a minor chest infection afterwards that was remedied with some herbs, and I´m feeling great!)

I got a knee injury. So I set forth tapping for the pain, doing stretches, strengthening exercises, low-impact training, compression, etc, and it was gradually getting better.
Then today, as I was at the gym doing yet another low-impact cardio workout and tapping, it just popped into my head why I got the injury. OK, so this was my weak knee, and OK, it was prone to trouble, but I got this latest injury on the day of the Two Oceans Half-Marathon that I was supposed to be initially running. If you have been following my progress, you will probably remember that this is the race I had decided I was not quite ready for, and that I had chosen the Darling Half-Marathon instead, a less formal race a month later. Well, on the day of the Two Oceans half, I was out training, and some youths made fun of me, making remarks about Two Oceans and that I had wandered off the track. I did not realise at the time just how deeply hurt I was. As soon as I realised it today, my knee suddenly stopped hurting, and I wanted to run again. I kept tapping on the incident until zero. And then I closed my eyes and vividly imagined it to test if it was really gone. I then heard one of those teens in my mind saying “Two Oceans” sarcastically, in that teenage-boy voice. It was a 3 out of 10. So I kept tapping as I remembered the voice. Then I closed my eyes and tried to vividly imagine it again, and all I saw was fluffy balls of white cotton wool instead! It was gone. I went to the treadmill and ran 2.23 km.
I will increase gradually and carry on with the knee care. Apart from a tiny bit of soreness in some positions, the pain has gone. Like magic!
By the way, my breathing is doing wonderfully with all this training. Roll on the 21st May, the day of my first half-marathon.

My spouse, an IT contractor, is owed two months’ pay. Although on a normal month, we could cope with something like that, we also had to contend with over two weeks of no internet, due to the monopoly supplier here in South Africa not supplying the service, when we were both unable to drum up new business and were totally reliant on referrals, which is not easy when you are in a new country! I am very grateful for the referrals we got. We have survived August almost purely on referrals. However, we have a few partially-paid bills, and it is urgent that we fully pay them. When we did get the internet back (albeit in a slow form), new inquiries started to come in. I was so much in a mind-space of doom and gloom that I would initially miss seeing a sales inquiry email and see business rejections where there weren’t any. I would find out an hour later after tapping, when my mind would clear. Now another supplier, not even a South African one, has let me down, and I am losing more sales, until I can call them on Tuesday – my first opportunity. I am tapping several times a day to relieve the constant stress of it all.
After tapping:
Feeling very relaxed now. I know that I can take up the financial slack in September just with my business if need be, and that by the end of September, the most urgent of these bills will be paid; even if spouse and company contracted to have to part company and there is a wait for another contract. We have put measures in place to replace that income, and although they will only kick in in January, we can cope till then.
I started this tapping with an extreme pain in my neck and right shoulder and an intensity of about 8-9. Now the pain is gone completely and the intensity is about a 0. That’s good enough for me for now.
Having a chronic condition for over two decades usually means challenged finances, which I have been steadily improving by getting steadily better and working on the mainly practical and partly emotional blocks to money.
